Pichavaram Mangrove Forest

Visited one of the largest mangrove forests in India. This happened after a long time planning. Many times the plan was canceled due to the situation, but finally it happened with— my mom, my friend, and her mom.

We traveled 55.3 km from Cuddalore to Pichavaram with a two-wheeler. I was excited to ride my new scooty on the highway road with my mom, and it was my first trip with my mom. We moved from Cuddalore to the Killai village and reached the mangrove forest.

After reaching the place, we parked the vehicles and we felt very thirsty, so we had a sugarcane juice. We went through the booking prices. There were two options available — one was the row boat and the other was a motor boat. We finally picked the row boat. It cost ₹1000 for 4 members. It was a sunny Sunday and many people had arrived to visit. We waited for 30 minutes to get into our respective boat.

We were provided with life jackets. We all were excited except my aunty. She was in fear by seeing the ride of others. My mom convinced her. Only we 4 and the boatman were there with us. The boat moved slowly. It was very calm and quiet. Some boats were here and there. I fell in love with the view and the place felt cool. I want to say that the boatman was really so sweet — he explained about the place and answered our questions with patience. The ride was so peaceful. My friend and I got the chance to row the boat for some time. Oh God, the oar felt so heavy. The man's hand was really strong.

We took some pictures and explored the place. The dense green trees rooted in shallow water, sunlight filtering through the leaves. It was so funny when the other boats crossed us. There were birds, fishes, and some insects in the place. We got the ride for 1:30 hrs. We thanked them for the boating travel and had our lunch at a nearby hotel. I tasted a variety of seafood — it was very delicious. After that, we returned to our home. My mom also felt so happy after the experience.

It was a fun-filled trip and refreshing ride with them.
